The role

As an Associate Director, Technical and Compliance you'll enjoy working in fast-paced environments, you'll be able to operate independently and manage multiple projects at once, and you'll relish working with others to resolve complex technical problems. You will also be someone who can win the confidence of partners and staff within the Firm and the Firm’s network. You will also:

  • Review the annual reports, financial statements and audit reports of listed entities to confirm compliance with accounting standards, auditing standards, company legislation and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Triage technical support requests from across the firm, and provide technical support and advice on accounting and auditing matters to the Firm’s partners and staff
  • Research, draft and respond to technical queries covering accounting, audit and UK company law matters.
  • Develop and issue technical materials, guidance and articles for internal and external communication
  • Develop and maintain log of technical and ethical issues and responses?

Requirements

  • Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ICAEW, ACCA or equivalent) with at least 3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Good working knowledge of UK and International accounting standards (UK GAAP and IFRS), listing rules (e.g. AIM and AQSE), UK companies’ legislation, auditing standards (ISAs (UK)), ISQM 1 amp; 2 and the FRC’s Revised Ethical Standard
  • Recognised and evidenced ability to apply the above referenced knowledge to deal with complex, multi-faceted issues and reach practical and supportable conclusions
  • Previous experience of working in a similar technical position at an audit practice is desirable but not essential. The role is also suitable for an auditor demonstrating strong technical aptitude looking to move into a technical role as a key member of the team.
  • Strong administrative (i.e. time and project management) and presentational skills
