The Team

The Role
- Performing and/or reviewing the various government and regional components of the quarterly income tax accruals, conducting government and regional tax account reconciliations, maintenance of deferred tax items, and determining current and deferred tax for provision reporting purposes
- Support tax technology process and requirements throughout the development life cycle (i.e. requirements documentation, test plans, validation, production support, etc.).
- Completes income tax compliance with appropriate accuracy and efficiency
- Prepares, analyzes, reconciles balance sheets and records tax entries needed for financial statements
- Responds to notices/general inquiries and assists with audit inquiries
- Ensure that tax payments and tax returns are processed within filing deadlines.
- Identify and implement dynamic planning opportunities. Work with cross-functional business groups and systems to manage the implementation of tax policies, procedures, and projects.
- Apply tax knowledge to ensure accurate and timely filing of federal and state corporate and partnership tax returns
- Identifying tax savings opportunities and performing tax planning
- Utilize accounting and tax software to compile information for federal tax reporting
- Assist the company in driving compliance process improvements and systems solutions
- Assist with special projects, including addressing notices and assisting with tax audits
Requirements
We are looking for a Tax Business Analyst in the Oil amp; Gas industry with experience in:
- Minimum of 4 years of government/local tax consulting experience
- Direct and Indirect Tax experience is required
- Experience in the Oil amp; Gas clients is preferred
- Ability to apply tax law to business planning
- Broad tax experience, with local tax and/or international host country tax experience a plus.
- Strong accounting and analytical skills and decision-making capabilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Recognize and protect confidential information.
- CPA/ACAA/CA license and/or Master of Taxation preferred
- Strong financial and tax accounting skills
