About the role

As a Mortgage Product Analyst, you will play a critical role in shaping the product strategy for our mortgage products (BTL, Bridging and Residential), with a focus on product pricing, competitor tracking, research and development of new products, sourcing system optimisation, and robust governance. The role sits within the Treasury Markets team in the broader Capital Markets amp; Treasury division and therefore you will work closely with cross-functional teams including Finance and FPamp;A, Treasury amp; Capital Markets, Credit Risk, Sales, and Operations to drive product performance and effectiveness, and contribute to the growth and profitability of our mortgage products.

About your responsibilities

  • Product Pricing: Collaborate with Finance, Treasury amp; Capital Markets, Credit Risk, Sales, and other stakeholders to develop pricing strategies that maximise value to the company, while remaining competitive and delivering value to customers.
  • Competitor Tracking: Monitor and analyse competitor pricing, criteria, and product launches to stay informed about market trends and opportunities. Provide regular updates and recommendations to the management team, the commercial committee and the product committees to ensure our products remain competitive in the market.
  • Research amp; Development of New Products: Conduct research on market trends, understand the effect of the macroeconomic climate on customer behaviour, socio-economic shifts, and other relevant factors to identify new product opportunities. Design innovative products centred around customer needs, and work with cross-functional teams to bring them to market, taking a proactive approach.Stay up-to-date with industry trends, customer preferences, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for product differentiation and innovation.
  • Sourcing Systems: Monitor and optimise the effectiveness of sourcing systems such as Mortgage Broker Tools (MBT), iRess (Trigold), 27Tec, Mortgage Brain, Knowledge Bank, One Mortgage System, Criteria Hub, Lamp;G Mortgage Club, and other broker tools. Collaborate with these systems and our internal team to understand demand drivers within the intermediary audience and optimise our products accordingly.
  • Governance: Document the product development process, monitor product performance, and assess effectiveness against stated objectives. Monitor and adapt our products to ensure they are meeting customer needs and are aligned with business goals. Conduct regular reviews and provide recommendations for product improvements to improve alignment.

Requirements

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable, strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively, and to generate innovative ideas.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented mindset with a track record of delivering successful product outcomes.

Ideal

  • Proven experience as a Mortgage Product Analyst or similar role in the financial services industry.
  • Experience with data programming (VBA/SQL/Python)
  • Familiarity with mortgage pricing strategies, product development processes, and governance principles.
  • Knowledge of mortgage broker tools.
