THE TEAM

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced journalist to join a rapidly-growing, influential online comment and analysis service for the pharma and biotech industry.

Vantage, the independent news arm of Evaluate Pharma, is looking for a seasoned healthcare or pharma reporter to join our award-winning team. The senior journalist will work in a friendly, high-performing team to generate quality, forward-looking copy on a daily basis. Please visit Evaluate Vantage to learn more.

HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED

We are looking for an experienced healthcare or pharma reporter who possesses knowledge of both the European and US pharmaceuticals sectors and an ability to demonstrate an understanding of the latest developments in drug research and regulation. You should be aware of the strategy and business models of the leading pharma and biotechnology companies and have a basic understanding of finance and financial reporting. You will have experience of writing to tight daily deadlines and have an ability to comment authoritatively on topics relevant to a wide pharma and financial audience. You will have demonstrable expertise on various social platforms, including knowledge of how to exploit content for a variety of digital outlets. You will also have an ability to work collaboratively with other reporters and editors and fully contribute to the planning and editing process.

  • Proven experience of breaking exclusive stories;
  • Well-developed communications skills;

  • Flexibility and resilience to cope with changing priorities;
  • Ability to quickly grasp new ideas and concepts;
  • Competency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  • Strong analytical skills to be able to analyse complex written information;
  • Innovative approach to function;
  • Open and honest approach to communication;
  • Ability to grow and adapt as business does;
  • Presentation skills.

Nice to have:

  • Degree level (ideally science related background) or equivalent work experience;
  • Ability to interpret clinical trial results;
  • Understanding of the US healthcare system;
  • Foreign language(s).

We work in a hybrid model. Occasional travel to international medical conferences will be necessary.
