About the Fleet Planning Team:

The Fleet Planner amp; Analyst plays a pivotal role as a key member of our dynamic Fleet team. Reporting directly to the Head of Fleet Planning, this position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate closely with multiple departments, including fleet procurement, car sales, fleet operations, finance, and other teams within our organisation.

At Onto, our success hinges on our ability to efficiently manage our fleet. As the Fleet Planner amp; Analyst, you will be instrumental in providing the necessary information to better understand market behaviours, trends, and costs. Your expertise will enable us to implement the most effective fleet rotation strategies, ultimately driving our business forward.


Requirements

Life as a Fleet Planner amp; Analyst at Onto:

  • Create, maintain and coordinate data files and provide monthly reporting for:
      • Vehicle data
      • Market value update with industry databases
      • Maintain trends data for market values for current and upcoming models
      • Car sales prices
      • Maintain dashboards
      • Compare prices from competition in the market
  • Support fleet purchase, rotation and sales plans:
      • Compare alternative purchase options within the same models
      • Compare across models from different manufacturers
      • Track performance of cars versus purchase assumptions
      • Choose when and which models to defleet
  • Depreciation amp; Fleet Valuation:
      • Update depreciation rate files for the whole fleet every quarter
      • Monthly update of the market value for the whole fleet and comparison against book values from the finance team
  • Prepare, maintain and coordinate data files with car sales team, operations, maintenance, logistics, marketing and finance
  • Run ad hoc projects across multiple teams within the organisation
  • Creative thinking to solve requests from the wider business

Ideally we are looking for:

  • Automotive industry knowledge. Understanding of market trends and challenges as well as the Residual Value process.
  • Experience working with CAP HPI. Knowledge of their various products and how these can be used and interpreted.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills. For example; Xlookup, Index/Match, Pivot Tables, Iferror.
  • Experience working with large data sets, using Excel skills to manipulate this and then provide insights to higher management.
  • A good understanding of cost/revenue analysis.
  • The ability to think outside the box and drive improvements in our ways of working.
  • Comfortable with presenting results and analysis to the Management Board and external clients.
