Job Description

Responsible for the day to day management of subscription and sales performance, proposition, pricing, partner management, marketing and budget management. This role will be the key stakeholder across the business responsible for delivering on targets and communicating updates.. This role will work really closely with our food and drink partner and key stakeholders across the business.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall branding, audience strategy, marketing strategy and marketing campaigns for Wine Cellar.
  • Responsible for converting subscribers, registrants, casual readers and brand new audiences to deliver against our key commercial and subscription KPIs.
  • Lead the promotional planning process to define sales campaigns and offer strategies alongside our partner, Enotriaamp;Coe. Lead the marketing strategy, plan and development of appropriate sales materials and messaging to compliment promotional campaigns.
  • Actively seek out new opportunities to drive Telegraph Wine Cellar audience and KPIs through paid, partnerships and market opportunities. Working with internal teams, setting briefs and budget requirements and ensuring targets are met
  • Work closely with Editorial to ensure the wine product is promoted via editorial channels including relevant articles, onsite assets, newsletters etc.
  • Strong alignment with Subscription teams to agree priorities for in house inventory and shared resource, and align strategies to upsell and drive awareness of Telegraph Wine Cellar to subscribers and registrant audiences.
  • Presenting performance results and upcoming plans to senior product, editorial and subscription stakeholders for approval and once approved, ensuring plans are executed on time and within budget.
  • Lead on budgeting and forecasting activity for Wine Cellar. Work with our partner on offers and commission rates. Prepare, update and circulate key documents including budget trackers, performance trackers.
  • Collaborate with the data and analytics teams to regularly monitor results, optimise and expand based on learnings, and identify any gaps in reporting or data requirements.
  • Lead the continuous development of the Telegraph Wine Cellar brand. Ensure branding is strong, consistent and elevated through all activity. Constantly monitoring the impact of brand and ensuring alignment with wider Telegraph brand
  • Maintain strong relationships with Legal and Compliance teams, maintain a thorough understanding of what is possible for marketing wine and influence the wider teams to deliver plans within these guidelines.
  • Undertake continuous analysis of the competitive environment and consumer trends.
  • Manage and mentor Marketing Executive.

Requirements

  • Considerable experience in a brand or agency with a proven track record of digital and direct marketing, performance marketing and CRM in a B2C environment.
  • It is essential that you have experience in an eCommerce role
  • Experience in the wine or food and drink industry is preferable, but not required. At the very least, you’ll love wine.
  • A doer, who isn’t afraid of rolling up their sleeves and getting the work done.
  • An ambitious self-starter who wants to take ownership of an important business capability and has the confidence and determination to deliver results.
  • Excellent problem solver with the confidence to challenge assumptions and instigate positive change to achieve business goals
  • Good understanding of the marketing mix
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders on multi levels
  • Adaptable, organised and resilient
  • Ability to analyse campaigns and make recommendations based on data and insight
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and external partners and agencies
  • A passion and commitment for working in a fast-paced environment
