The Role

We are looking for an interim Head of People amp; Culture to cover our Chief People Officer during her Maternity leave, to ensure that our team has the best possible employee experience. The key purpose of this role is to manage our professional and proactive people service that is valued by colleagues, fully supports our strategic and operational priorities, and enables us to recruit and retain high quality staff. The role is hybrid working - 3 days per week from our Fitzrovia, London office, 2 days from home.

This is an extensive role where you'll look after a variety of areas including Performance Management, Recruitment, Health amp; Wellbeing, Employee Relations, and Learning and Development. You’ll have experience of leading people activities, ensuring an exceptional employee experience throughout the lifecycle of our people, working closely with members of the Senior Leadership Team. You will be at the heart of our culture while continuously considering our business goals, taking responsibility for leading the transformation and embedding of our culture, championing our values through strong leadership and inspirational behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all People related functions of the business
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of employments law and HR best practice to ensure advice and guidance is both accurate and up-to-date
  • Lead our recruitment process by managing vacancy prioritisation with our Talent Acquisition Specialist. You’ll also provide salary recommendations and time to hire expectations where required.
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding process for all employees
  • Ensure a smooth offboarding process for leavers, ensuring an exit interview is conducted to allow us to learn and grow
  • Manage our staff recognition and reward programmes
  • Manage our employee annual leave and TOIL process
  • Manage our employee sickness and absences process
  • Provide guidance and support regarding Maternity/Paternity Leave/Pay and Flexible Working
  • Manage appropriate checks on employees eligibility to work in the UK, ensuring compliance to visas where appropriate
  • Develop the capability of line managers within the company to manage their team members effectively and we are driving performance
  • Coach and mentor staff as needed, ensuring employees enjoy and get the most of of their work life
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance to ensure payroll is updated with any changes
  • Manage employee benefits and administration
  • Look after Health and Safety, ensuring we maintain high standards and facilitate safe working environments and conditions
  • Lead on internal staff communications, ensuring timely, effective and energising updates to staff
  • Run our bi-annual engagement survey and present back to the company, along with an improvement plan based on feedback
  • Manage our end-of-year review process which continues throughout the year
  • Manage our learning and development budget ensuring it’s used fairly across the business
  • Oversee the pay structure, ensuring a fair and balanced remuneration structure is in place
  • Line Manage our Talent Acquisition Specialist and People Coordinator ensuring they have direction
  • Organise events in London; including our monthly business updates, staff social events and others
  • Point of contact for our London office. Ensure problems are dealt with swiftly and that it’s a great environment to work in
  • Maintain and improve our company intranet, ensuring it’s up to date and useful for staff
  • Ensure our career frameworks and learning amp; development catalogues are up to date for our employees
