We’re on the lookout for a brilliant midweight Project Manager. If you have some digital agency project management experience and you’re quick, communicative and organised then this could be the ideal role for you to further develop your Project Management career.
Working on one or more account-specific project management teams focussed on design, content and technical delivery, you will be responsible for understanding the client’s brief, clarifying requirements, setting up projects correctly, task planning with a team, tracking, monitoring and reporting on project progress, and managing the overall delivery of some seriously challenging projects.
You’ll need fantastic communication skills, hold a high degree of responsibility, with diplomacy to build relationships and manage external and internal stakeholders whilst keeping projects on track. You will ensure our internal processes are translated into working practices and be responsible for ensuring these are adhered to at all times.
Responsibilities:
- Managing technical or creative-focussed projects of varying complexity.
- Conduct task planning for your projects in association with the relevant subject matter experts and your account’s Delivery Lead, based on client briefs.
- Contribute to defining the resource profile for your project based on the project plan, and create a budget based on the resource needs.
- Contribute to Statements of Work for projects based on the project delivery plan.
- Be able to foresee and prevent problems through proactive status updates and tracking and monitoring of project progress.
- Monitor financial tracking on a per-project basis and work with your project management and account leads to mitigate any issues that arise.
- Developing great working relationships with other departments and promoting positive liaisons at the project level.
- Ensuring retrospectives are held when necessary, and knowledge shared within your account and within the wider delivery team.
- Represent your client’s brand within Hugo and Cat and vice versa.
- Communicating progress and appropriate escalation to your project leader.
- Proactively raise any new business opportunities from within your specific account/s with your account lead.
- Work with your project management and account leads to forecast resource requirements for your projects, to feed into revenue forecasts and resource management capacity planning.
- Contributing to agency wide delivery processes and templates.
- Attend training and events to ensure continued self-improvement.
- Work proactively with your department leader to manage your own workload and prevent over- or under-utilisation.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience of delivering projects within a top digital agency or client environment.
- A proven track record of managing projects with a desire to continue growing your skills and experience.
- Knowledge of current industry standard delivery methodologies, including Agile (e.g. Scrum) and waterfall, and to be comfortable applying the appropriate approach for each project.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with peers and clients, and the ability to achieve results under challenging circumstances.
- Ability to make sound commercial and financial decisions, quickly grasp an understanding of complex problems and propose solutions to facilitate fast resolutions.
- Ability to work well under pressure, whilst remaining objective and retaining a positive approach.
- Be self-motivated, self-driven and independent, and able to identify team members who can provide information to keep your projects on track if blockers arise.
- Demonstrated commitment to high standards of excellence and integrity, showing solid business acumen and sound judgement.
- Outstanding communication skills at all levels, (presentation, written, verbal)
- Knowledge of tools such as MS Excel, Word and Project/Omniplan/Smartsheet, Jira and Confluence or Azure DevOps, with a very high degree of overall computer literacy.
- Highly organised and tenacious, with exceptional attention to detail.
