The opportunity
We have an opportunity for a talented Senior Treasury Analyst to join us on the exciting and rewarding path we are taking here at Castle Trust Bank. Having become a fully authorised bank in 2020, we pride ourselves in being a fintech challenger bank, providing specialist property mortgages, retail finance lending and savings accounts to a variety of customers.
Joining our Treasury team, you will play an important role in monitoring and analysing the company’s daily cash position to cover financial commitments and coordinate to optimise the yield, as well as the execution of daily cash management. You will analyse the balance sheet weekly, presenting findings to management whilst identifying and mitigating forecasting variances and ways to improve the process and integrity of the data.
In addition to the above, you will analyse the month end balance sheet and recommend hedging activity to ensure that the bank is within its risk appetite. This will involve checking data integrity of the balance sheet against forecast, analysing the interest rate Gap report and identifying and material mismatches and identifying/recommending strategies to minimise liquidity and interest rate exposures to the Treasury team. You will support the Treasury Manager with the preparation of the monthly Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO) pack and attend monthly ALCO meetings and present the findings and analysis.
You will support the Finance team and other internal functions (such as Risk and Internal Audit) as they relate to treasury transactions, developing operating cash flow forecasts relating to treasury metrics. This is an exciting opportunity where you will have the chance to lead on and assist with a variety of treasury projects and initiatives.
The role will be on a hybrid working arrangement, 3 days a week from our London office and the rest of the week from home.
What we are looking for in you
What is important to us is that you have experience or analysing large data sets with strong Excel/Power BI skills. It would be advantageous to have an understanding of regulated banking and capital markets in the UK for a specialist mortgage lending business, in addition to an understanding of asset-liability management functions within UK banks.
What is equally important is that you have a high level of attention to detail and comfortable managing timelines and expectations to ensure that deadlines are met. You will be confident working both independently and as part of a small team with excellent communication skills and the gravitas to communicate at all levels within the organisation. Ideally you will be degree educated (in mathematics or similar) and open to further development/study to continue to develop in your career.
