THE TEAM

In this role as a Python Developer, Strategic Intelligence, you will be part of the expanding data enablement team, which has grown considerably since being established over three years ago. You will report into the Manager, Strategic Intelligence. The team works directly with clients on a project basis, providing strategic support based on a foundation of Evaluate data. We work with a range of client organisations globally from major global pharma and biotechs, to financial services organisations and industry associations.

SCOPE OF THE ROLE

Our clients are generally senior-level decision makers in need of support to ensure they are properly informed to make those decisions, all the way up to C-level executives. As a Python Developer, Strategic Intelligence, you will be in a key position working with teams from around the world, primarily the Strategic Intelligence, Data Science and Data Engineering groups. In this role, you will be responsible for managing data feeds implementation, writing, and maintaining the code to build data solutions specific to customer needs. The creation and maintenance of QA frameworks will be a key component of this role.

In this role as a Python Developer, Strategic Intelligence, you will:

  • Plan and develop effort estimations;
  • Write effective, scalable code;
  • Test and debug code releases;
  • Improve functionality of existing code;
  • Conduct code reviews with the wider team;
  • Coordinate with internal teams to understand user requirements and provide technical solutions;
  • Introduce changes to data feed platform with focus on minimising impacts to on-going services, mitigating risk;
  • Engage with Data Engineering and Data Science to develop the overall data feed product.

Requirements

WHAT IT TAKES

  • Hands-on Python experience;
  • Deep experience working with the Pandas Python package to manipulate and transform messy data;
  • Experience with object-oriented programming;
  • Knowledge of Git Flow and CI/CD best practices;
  • Experience with data testing processes and packages;
  • Experience with unit tests and integration tests;
  • Experience requesting data from APIs.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with AWS;
  • Experience with Airflow;
  • Experience with Snowflake;
  • Experience with data testing processes and packages;
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or biomedical subject areas.
