ROLE

We have an opportunity for an experienced Technical SEO Lead to join the growing tech team at MATCHES and be able to take ownership of SEO within the business. You will be joining a growing digital growth team working alongside commercial, tech amp; product teams to implement scaled solutions that drive visibility, performance, amp; growth for MATCHES across all markets.

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience developing and driving a technical and strategic SEO approach for a large-scale business. Ideally within retail e-commerce.
  • Comfortable with numbers. Able to monitor and analyse search performance data and translate that into insight for business stakeholders.
  • Confident representing your area cross-function and within a wide range of different stakeholders.
  • Able to own your remit and roadmap, you are responsible for ownership of the SEO function within Matches, and are excited to grow it's influence within the business.

KEY SKILLS

  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of search engine optimization principles, techniques, and best practices, including technical SEO, on-page optimization, keyword research, link building, and SEO analytics.
  • Product Management: Understanding of product management methodologies and practices, including product lifecycle management, feature prioritization, roadmap development, and user experience optimization.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and some experience with content management systems (CMS) and web analytics tools.
  • Experience selecting and driving implementation of core SEO tools would be ideal
  • Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret SEO performance data, conduct keyword research, perform competitive analysis, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, present SEO strategies and recommendations, and provide clear documentation.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to work with various teams, including developers, designers, marketers, and content creators, to align SEO goals with overall business objectives.
  • Continuous Learning: Demonstrated commitment to staying updated with the latest SEO trends, search engine algorithm updates, and industry best practices.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of the broader business goals and how SEO can contribute to achieving them, including conversion rate optimization, user experience, and revenue generation.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Google Search Console: Familiarity with Google Search Console is essential for monitoring website performance, analyzing search traffic, identifying indexing issues, and managing XML sitemaps.
  • Google Analytics: Proficiency in Google Analytics, for tracking website traffic, analyzing user behavior, measuring conversions, and gaining insights into SEO performance.
  • SEO Crawlers: Experience with SEO crawling tools used to conduct website audits, identifying technical SEO issues, and analyzing site structure.
  • Keyword Research Tools: Familiarity with keyword research tools is important for identifying relevant keywords, analyzing search volume, and understanding keyword competitiveness.
  • Backlink Analysis Tools: Knowledge of backlink analysis tools like Ahrefs, Moz, or Majestic is beneficial for analyzing backlink profiles, identifying quality link opportunities, and monitoring competitor link profiles.
  • Technical SEO Tools: Familiarity with technical SEO tools such as Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, or Pingdom is important for analyzing website speed, performance, and addressing technical issues.
