Our company continues to grow and we’re looking for a part-time Internal Auditor to join our team and support the Chief Information Security Officer and Data Protection Officer in ensuring the company continues to operate in line with its internal polices and standards.
What is the Internal Auditor remit?
- To ensure our teams are adhering to internal polices through the review of documentation and the conduct of evidence-based conversations.
- To ensure that we meet our legal, contractual, and regulatory obligations through the conduct of internal audits.
- To raise noncompliance with the CISO and agree remediation plans and timelines with individuals and teams.
- To ensure Board Intelligence works in accordance with the standards and controls required to evidence and maintain its external certifications.
What will you be responsible for?
Working closely with our CISO and DPO, you’ll play a key role in:
- The conduct of internal audits to ensure and maintain compliance with our information security policies as required by ISO 27001.
- The conduct of internal audits to support and maintain regulatory and legal compliance, for example with data privacy obligations.
- The conduct of internal audits to ensure that we are operating in accordance with contractually agreed operating procedures and policies.
- Liaising with third party auditors [or regulators] where necessary for example to support external compliance audits.
- Development and project management of the internal audit programme.
- Liaising with and reporting to senior leadership, e.g. to communicate the audit programme.
- Educating teams internally in order to strengthen our internal compliance.
Requirements
- Experience in a relevant Internal Audit role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- High levels of integrity and ethical standards
- A keen eye for detail to successfully scrutinise the information available
- Ability to form collaborative relationships quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and interact well with co-workers of varying seniority
- Proven project management skills
- Ability to create and develop documentation and procedures to grow, support and mature the Internal Audit function
- Experience in working with a regulated sector such as banking, legal, insurance, pharmaceutical
- Experience in working maintaining external audit standards such as ISO27001 or SOC 2
- Prioritise your work workload with minimal oversight
- Ability to step back and understand the bigger picture; take commercially pragmatic decisions
- Willingness to develop knowledge in new areas to support the role

You will be based in our London Head Office at 24 Cornhill, with a flexible hybrid working environment. We expect regular attendance at our office, typically at minimum one day per week, but if you prefer to be in the office for all of your work time, that's fine too.
