Job Description

We want you to #JOINTHEREBELLION!

For 30 years we’ve been creating incredible video games at our multiple studios, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film and mo-cap studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.

We operate across multiple UK locations, with studios based in Oxford, Warwick, Liverpool, and Wakefield. Work-life balance is important to us, and we want everyone at Rebellion to work in the way that works best for them. So, if you are based in the UK, we are always open to discussing how we can support flexible/hybrid working options.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-orientated QA Analyst to join our dynamic QA team. If you already have experience from working on multiple platforms and various game genres, this could be your chance to take the next step in your career and work for one of Europe’s leading independent video game studios!

Your role is to ensure the quality of our games to industry leading standard and ensure the integration of the work is in line with the project’s technical constraints and direction. Your focus is the execution of your work and how this develops the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Testing: You will be responsible for testing various aspects of the game, including gameplay mechanics, controls, graphics, audio, user interface, and overall performance. This involves playing the game extensively and systematically trying to identify any bugs, glitches, or issues that could affect the player's experience.
  • Bug Reporting: When you encounter a problem during testing, you need to document it accurately by providing detailed information about how to reproduce the issue, including steps and conditions that lead to the bug. This information is crucial for the development team to understand and fix the problem.
  • Test Case Creation: You may be involved in creating and maintaining test cases and test scenarios based on the game's design and requirements. Test cases serve as a guide for testing specific features, ensuring that all aspects of the game are thoroughly examined.
  • Compatibility Testing: Games are often released on multiple platforms, such as consoles, PC, or mobile devices. You may need to test the game on different hardware configurations and operating systems to ensure compatibility and optimal performance across various platforms.
  • Answer queries from development, production, and QA team members, assisting with the development process.
  • Communication and Collaboration: As an Experienced QA Analyst, you will work closely with Sr. Tester amp; Lead, and other team members. Effective communication is essential to report bugs, provide feedback, and collaborate on improving the game's quality.
  • Documentation: You will be expected to maintain detailed records of your testing activities, including test plans, test results, and any issues encountered during testing. This documentation helps in tracking progress, identifying patterns, and providing feedback to the development team.
  • Feedback and Suggestions: As an experienced tester, you may be asked to provide feedback on gameplay mechanics, user interface, and overall user experience. Your insights and suggestions can contribute to the game's improvement and help shape its final version.
  • Adherence to Standards: You will be expected to follow established testing methodologies, best practices, and quality standards to ensure consistency and accuracy in your testing processes.
  • Develop an understanding of project tools and their functions, the project file classification system and the process of updating engine data
