Scope of work amp; the value you will add to our customers:

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst Developer will work closely with our business users, to understand, design, and deliver robust, best practice solutions. They with also work alongside the wider BI team, providing guidance and expertise. The role will require a balance of strong commercial acumen alongside expert technical ability.

By ensuring colleagues have access to data that provides accurate and actionable insight into the Bank’s operations, enabling them to provide an unrivalled service to our customers


Role amp; Responsibilities:

  • Development across the entire enterprise data platform.
  • Be a point of expertise and consultation on technical and commercial aspects, for the business and wider team.
  • Ensuring development aligns to agreed standards and is of a high quality.
  • Evaluating and adopting new techniques to advance the platform.
  • Working with product and operations teams to streamline processes.
  • Aiding planning sessions and prioritization to facilitate agile delivery of features.
  • Day to day support of the platform to help diagnose and fix production issues.
  • Adhere and support the application life cycle management practices employed by the bank, specifically regarding documentation standards, task management, planning, source control and environment configuration management.
  • Creating and maintaining key documentation.
  • Support the BI product manager in leading the development team.


Requirements

Mandatory Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft database and Business Intelligence stack:
  • Database SQL Server with expert T-SQL. Familiarity with metadata driven development will be an advantage
  • Data Warehousing Complex modelling and load scenarios utilizing Kimball methodology.
  • SSAS Tabular Modelling of complex business relationships, and creation of complex metrics using DAX. Knowledge of optimization techniques an advantage
  • Power BI Design and build of highly interactive dashboards, with a strong focus on user experience and best practice visualization principles
  • Demonstrable experience delivering complex solutions through full project lifecycles, including change management and robust source control processes
  • Experience with any of the following an advantage. Azure Data Lake / Azure Data Factory / Azure Synapse Analytics / Azure Purview


Desirable Skills:

  • A strong commercial focus in Financial Services, complemented by excellent technical ability.
  • Highly numerate and able to perform forensic discovery into complex financial problems and existing reporting. Comfortable with a degree of uncertainty, requiring creative solutions


Interdisciplinary Skills:

  • Capable of seizing the initiative to take a complex business requirement and take it all the way through to a first-class enterprise grade BI solution
  • A pragmatic, highly organized individual with a delivery focused attitude, prepared to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Excellent communication skills, and able to drive close collaboration with both technical and non-technical teams across the bank.
  • Able to confidently represent the BI team across the bank at various stakeholder levels, all the way up to senior management
  • A career focused individual with the aspiration and ability to progress and grow in and beyond their role within the bank
  • Capable of providing support and guidance for junior members of the team.
