Job Description

Our client, a large government customer, are seeking a Solutions Architect to join their team. The role is based in Corsham with onsite working required 2-3 days/week. The role requires SC clearance and candidates must be sole UK nationals.

Requirements are scheduled to run until 30/06/2024. Rate offered depends on experience:

Senior Specialist level candidate: up to 415/day

Professional level 2 candidate: up to 530/day

IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement. The rates above represent rate payable to the umbrella co.

Background

A Solutions Architect (SA) to support the team, coordinate and manage the day-to-day activities of a Vulnerability Rewards Programme (VRP). The SA will be responsible for managing the vulnerability submission process, onboarding new system owners, working closely with security research partners and managing relationships with them, in addition to managing the budget and reward allocation for discovered vulnerabilities. This position is intended to be a transitionary BAU support and will be replaced by a civil servant in due course.

Main Activities/Responsibilities

  • Manage Vulnerability Submission Process
  • Monitor and maintain vulnerability submission inboxes.
  • Review, triage, and prioritise vulnerability submissions.
  • Collaborate with system owners to ensure timely remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
  • Facilitate communication between security researchers and system owners to clarify submission details.
  • Coordinate with System Owners
  • Identify relevant system owners for each vulnerability submission.
  • Regularly communicate with system owners to provide updates on vulnerability reports.
  • Facilitate the exchange of information between security researchers and system owners.
  • Assist system owners in understanding the impact and severity of reported vulnerabilities.
  • Manage Bounty Rewards and Funds
  • Calculate appropriate rewards based on the severity and impact of reported vulnerabilities.
  • Track and manage the allocation of bounty funds.
  • Coordinate with finance and procurement teams to ensure timely payment of rewards.
  • Establish and Onboard New System Owners
  • Identify new system owners and their corresponding areas of responsibility.
  • Create new vulnerability submission inboxes and establish standard operating procedures.
  • Develop onboarding materials and provide training to new system owners.
  • Foster relationships with new system owners to encourage their active participation in the program.
  • Collaborate with Security Partners and Researchers
  • Build and maintain relationships with external security partners and researchers.
  • Act as a liaison between the organisation and external stakeholders.
  • Encourage collaboration and information sharing among security partners and researchers.
  • Develop and deliver training materials for the role in readiness to transition across to a crown servant towards the end of the contract.
  • Produce monthly VRP/VDP reports to demonstrate the amount, category, triage time and ownership of vulnerability’s coming through.

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 General visas cannot be accepted.
