About the role:

You are a talented senior business development professional who thrives in fast paced dynamic environments with a proven track record of identifying and cultivating opportunities and selling multi-million pound payment and consumer finance contracts to tier 1 merchants. You will own the business development lifecycle ensuring that new tier 1 merchant partners are identified, propositions developed, commercial terms are agreed and programs are delivered. You have a unique blend of commercial, technical and relationship management skills with a proven track record of selling payment and consumer finance solutions to tier 1 merchants in retail, travel, automotive, healthcare and consumer technology verticals.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute the partnership strategy and plan to win new business from tier 1 merchants in UK and Europe.
  • Prospect potential new partners through building relationships with C-level contacts in target organisations to understand partner needs and identify sales opportunities.
  • Partner with our B2B Marketing function to develop strategies and campaigns to raise awareness and promote unique selling points of Tymit amongst target partners.
  • Develop partner propositions and business solutions leveraging Tymit’s core instalment, lending and payment capabilities.
  • Develop robust business cases and commercial models that demonstrate the incremental value Tymit propositions and solutions provide to target partners and the profit contribution of new programs for the company.
  • Create cross-functional deal teams to coordinate and deliver high quality RFP / RFI responses and proposals.
  • Define and negotiate commercial and contractual terms with partners and deliver term sheets and full commercial contracts.
  • Liaise with internal delivery teams to initiate new programs and define scope.
  • Post-contract, oversee the governance of new programs during the set-up and go live phase and maintain strong relationships with the partner.
  • Report to the CCO and ExCo on the development of the partner pipeline.

Requirements

What you will bring:

  • Proven track record in a leadership position in business development preferably with a fintech or SaaS scale up.
  • Experience in prospecting, developing and closing large deals with significant business impact.
  • Strong commercial and technical acumen with a deep understanding of how financial products and solutions create value for tier 1 merchant partners.
  • Driven, confident and assertive with an ability to work in a fast-paced, scale-up environment.
  • Impeccable verbal and written presentation and communication skills to engage C-level stakeholders in partner organisations.
  • Deep understanding of how to construct and analyse complex financial models to support deal proposals.
  • 10 years or more work experience in a business development or sales leadership role.
  • MBA or equivalent professional business qualification preferred.
