The Starling Credit Risk team is looking for someone to join their team as a senior analyst - credit risk oversight. This is a senior role within the team and previous credit experience is required. This role will suit someone who has credit experience across all aspects of the lending journey, including underwriting/origination, portfolio management, portfolio analysis and Collections amp; Recoveries and is looking to develop their career further.

As a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Oversight, review and challenge of all relevant 1st line lending activities from a credit risk perspective, covering the entire credit risk cycle across all lending products. This will include the review and challenge of 1st line proposals.
- Undertake assurance reviews on all lending activities, which include reviewing the appropriateness of risk controls, quality of reporting, compliance with relevant regulations and the implementation and adherence to risk appetite and policies.
- Undertake dip testing on credit activity and validate adherence to credit policy and strategy.
- Driving best practice in the bank's approach to assurance and dip testing on its lending activities.
- Support the development and maintenance of the Bank’s credit risk appetite and policy suite.
- Support due diligence on any 3rd party outsourcers and/or portfolio acquisitions.
- Support both 1LOD and 2LOD teams with key projects as required.
- Support the preparation and submission of credit risk reporting dashboards, providing input into the data captured and how it is reported.
- Ensure that accurate information on the Starling lending portfolio is produced for the appropriate committees and feedback received is incorporated.
- Support the development of the credit risk team through providing training and coaching to colleagues within the team.
Requirements
- 2 - 5 years experience in credit risk, ideally in a second line environment or in a first line lending function with an expertise in credit assessment/risk.
- Expertise in the use of Excel or Google Sheets.
- Previous experience of or a willingness to learn coding skills using R/Python/SQL language with a view to extracting useful information from large amounts of data.
- Excellent attention to detail and an ability to identify trends, issues or opportunities from information to hand (both qualitative and quantitative).
- Organised, flexible and adaptable, with the ability to switch between tasks seamlessly.
- Proven and proactive self starter.
- Technical and interpersonal skills, with an ability to articulate challenge and be challenged constructively.
