The Starling Credit Risk team is looking for someone to join their team as a senior analyst - credit risk analytics. This is a senior role within the team and previous credit experience is required. This role will suit someone who has credit analytics experience across all aspects of the lending journey including origination, portfolio management, portfolio analysis or Collections and is looking to develop their career further.

As a Senior Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Review and challenge of all relevant 1st line lending activities from a credit risk analytics perspective, covering the entire credit risk cycle across all lending products. This will include the review and challenge of 1st line proposals.
  • Preparation and management of credit risk management information, reporting and dashboards.
  • Regular reviews of the appropriateness of information being reported and changes/updates needed to the reporting dashboards to reflect risk priorities.
  • Driving best practice in the bank's approach to the maintenance of data, code and reporting dashboards.
  • Undertaking regular and ad-hoc deep dive analysis of the Bank's lending portfolios. This will include analysis proactively identifying any areas of concern or opportunity for the Bank.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Bank’s credit risk appetite.
  • Support due diligence on any 3rd party outsourcers and/or portfolio acquisitions.
  • Support both 1LOD and 2LOD teams with key projects as required.
  • Support the development of the credit risk team through providing training and coaching to colleagues within the team.

Requirements

  • 2 - 5 years experience in credit risk analytics, ideally in a second line environment or in a first line lending function with an expertise in credit risk.
  • Expert in the use of analytical tools such as R/Python/SQL/SAS and spreadsheets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and an ability to identify trends, issues or opportunities from information extracted.
  • Ability to articulate findings from analysis in a succinct and clear way that is suitable for the target audience.
  • Organised, flexible and adaptable, with the ability to switch between tasks seamlessly.
  • Proven and proactive self starter.
  • Technical and interpersonal skills, with an ability to challenge and be challenged constructively.
