Job Description

Wayman Education is looking for an experienced Intervention Teacher who will work on a full-time basis for one of our client schools in Dorking, Surrey, starting from September. As an Intervention Teacher, you will work with primary and secondary students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH). You will differentiate resources and plan focused interventions to help these students overcome their learning barriers and achieve excellent results. In this role, you will work closely with the SENCO, and other members of the school community in a supportive and inclusive environment. Responsibilities
  • Help SEMH students overcome their learning barriers and achieve excellent results
  • Differentiate learning resources and plan interventions that are focused on SEMH
  • Work closely with the SENCO to ensure you are addressing the key barriers to learning for your students
  • Monitor progress and impact, adjust and refine interventions as needed
  • Ensure that your classroom and teaching methods are inclusive and accessible to all students
  • Contribute to school-wide initiatives and team meetings
  • Ensure students' wellbeing and safety are considered and prioritised

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or related field
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have a minimum of 2 years' teaching experience with SEMH students
  • Be able to evidence positive learning outcomes with SEMH students
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be a reflective practitioner who is proactive in developing and improving their teaching practice
  • Be committed to inclusive education and teaching; able to create and adapt resources that enable all students to access the curriculum.
