Year 6 teacher responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in accordance with the national curriculum to ensure all students are supported and challenged appropriately.
- Assess and monitor student progress, identifying areas where additional support may be required and implementing appropriate strategies to improve outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with fellow staff members, sharing best practices and adopting a continuous improvement mindset.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and other stakeholders to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment.
- Foster an atmosphere of accountability, responsibility, and respect within the classroom, promoting positive behaviour and proactively addressing any issues that arise.
- Embed a culture of inclusivity that celebrates diversity and supports all students, regardless of their abilities or background.
- Keep up to date with education developments and changes to the national curriculum to ensure that teaching and learning practices remain current and relevant.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
- A proven track record of consistently delivering high-quality and engaging lessons.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Strong behavioural management skills with a passionate and creative approach to student engagement.
- A collaborative mindset that supports a team environment.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and improving your teaching practice.
