Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide a Japanese-speaking contact with the Business Units (BU) in Square Enix, Japan, for all aspects of the business.

Project manage the forecasting process for new and existing Square Enix titles by liaising with forecast stakeholders in Japan and LA offices.

Update documents amp; SharePoint libraries to track project statuses such as development milestones, release timings, marketing/PR activities and platform strategies.

Provide business insight and reporting to key stakeholders, to both SEJ West Business Division and SEJ, including all aspects of the publishing portfolio.

Drive improvements through robust analysis of the business, along with available third-party data/industry reports, carry out trend analysis, competitor performances.

Requirements

Key Deliverables:
  • Handle day-to-day communication (in Japanese) with BU’s in Square Enix and co-ordinate meeting schedules.
  • Work with Business Manager to create forecast documents for submission to BU’s including Pamp;Ls and management review packs.
  • Manage internal SharePoint libraries and update tracking documents to share frequent changes in project status with the SEJ West Business Division.
  • Competitor data analysis using NPD/GFK/ISFE databases to support multiple Square Enix West forecast scenarios.
  • Analyse amp; report sales performance for internal titles, and report monthly sales figures to individual BU’s.
  • Manage the departmental overhead budgets and approvals, in conjunction with Finance.
  • Ad hoc admin, reporting and project work.

Executive Director, Brand and Marketing Directors, Product and Brand Manager at SEE/SEA, Project Managers amp; Producers, Finance teams at SEA/SEE, Commercial General Managers, Local marketing teams, Digital teams, SEJ BU’s stakeholders


Knowledge amp; Experience:

Essential:

  • English (business level) amp; Japanese (native level/JLPT N1 equivalent)
  • Previous work experience at a Japanese company
  • Good project management capability, highly organized and meticulous planning

Desirable:

  • Understanding of the video games/digital business environment

  • A logical, well organised approach, as well as commitment, flexibility and self-motivation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong team player - able to work within an interdisciplinary team and international business

  • Ability to deal effectively with multiple tasks simultaneously so as to meet all deadlines
  • A strong desire to add value and show initiative
  • Can travel abroad when needed
