Job Description

Roundpeg are recruiting a Managing Director level role based in the South West for a fast paced, innovative and entrepreneurial business helping homes and businesses save money and carbon emissions with solar panels. Founded in 2010, our client has expanded products to meet their customers’ growing needs. This role is a new hire for the business as they expand the team to manage the growing demand from customers in an ever evolving energy market.

The MD role is essential to the growth targets of the business and as a result the successful candidate will be driven to build the business; introducing new and innovative ways to grow the business be that through acquisition, franchise or organic expansion. It is an exciting and rare opportunity to take an already established business and ‘run with it’. It is a role that will balance your entrepreneurial spirit and commercial flair with a delicate and safe pair of hands at the helm!

Requirements

As the MD you will have the following skills:

Excellent people skills a positive and energetic leader who inspires those within the business to be innovative and engaged.

Strong analytical ability - logical thinking skills, with a good memory for detail.

Highly motivated the ability to run a business and ideally with previous experience of scaling a business, bringing with you the drive to expand and deliver against commercial targets.

Sales driven excellent customer management and expansion.

Strategic vision experience of working ‘in the moment’ but with the desire to build and deliver against agreed growth objectives a move from regional to national business.

Commercial understanding not only the ability to draw good commercial decisions from data and business feedback but also to know in your gut what will work and what won’t.

Project management the ability to manage your own work load and that of the business, with the ability to future proof the business requirements in a timely and efficient manner.

Client facing skills excellent presentation, interpersonal skills and client focus.

Inquisitiveness the healthy skepticism that takes nothing at face value and always asks ‘why?

People skills the ability to talk to a grounds person one minute and a CEO the next.

Shareholder management the management of a loyal and highly valued shareholders.

Strategic partnerships the ability to maintain and form high level strategic partnerships with suppliers and customers.

Reporting the Board working at board level to plan and implement wider business strategy.

Maintain culture and ethos of the existing business ensure that the DNA of integrity and positivity is nurtured and protected.

Capitalise on group opportunity use skill set to recognise, pursue and capitalise on the opportunity presented by the relationship with the parent company, their suppliers, wider network, customers and share holders.

Balance long term and short term decision making know the right actions to take for reactive and longer term decisions.

Moral Compass- have a strong moral compass and instil this across the business.

A sense of humour and broad shoulders.

As the MD the following skills are desired:

  • Implementing complex strategies
  • Business planning
  • People Management
  • Systems knowledge of Sales Force and Sage

Benefits

Basic salary from 100,000 - 150,000 plus bonus and package depending on experience.
