The role:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced senior level technologist to join our team of data engineers and data analysts, helping the company roll out its new data foundation and drive value add from data both for Proxymity and our clients.
The successful candidate will lead the every day execution of the data technology vision and work closely with the Data Director to execute on the data strategy, guiding and mentoring the data team where needed. The candidate will work with both internal technology and business stakeholders to extract insights from data and be instrumental in the design and build out of our data architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Own the technical design and lead the team with regards to Proxymity’s data architecture: from the data lake, data warehouse, data ingestion and data modelling all the way to the reporting tooling.
- Nurture the team through targeted technical mentorship, positioning yourself as the go-to expert within the team and the wider tech organization.
- Drive the roadmap execution and translate the data architecture vision into tangible technical accomplishments.
- Collaborate with Product and Relationship Management to expand the company standard reporting suite as well as addressing custom needs of our top-tier enterprise clients.
- Work alongside Engineering and Product to design and implement robust data ingestion mechanisms and processes that fulfil Proxymity’s future vision of reporting and insights.
- Architect streamlined and secure protocols for data handling and analysis, meticulously considering all technical dimensions.
- Champion adherence to, and enforce, software development methodologies and practices, fostering an environment of excellence.
- Demonstrate ownership and technical excellence across all data-related initiatives, ensuring a culture of quality, openness, collaboration, and innovation.
Requirements
- Demonstrated track record as a Senior or higher-level Data Engineer.
- Proficiency in conceptualizing and translating data architecture into tangible technical deliverables.
- Experience and understanding of data lakes, data warehouses and data modelling technologies.
- Competence and understanding of the AWS ecosystem specifically data specific infrastructure robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills
- Strong SQL skills essential.
- Strong coding skills Python or Java
- Well versed in industry best-practices for software development, including CI/CD methodologies and tooling
- Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, and AWS QuickSight.
- Analytical mind and business acumen
- Meticulous attention to detail, coupled with organizational prowess, thoroughness, and a methodical approach
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
- Outstanding collaborative attitude, reflecting an approachable and team-oriented demeanor.
- Experience working in the fintech industry advantageous but not essential.
- Familiarity with data science and machine learning - advantageous but not essential.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical discipline - advantageous but not essential.
