About the role
We are excited to be recruiting for an experienced transport planner as we continue to build our team in Manchester.
We are recruiting for the Manchester office but because Steer in the UK operates as a single, national business you will be working across the UK with a wide range of high-profile clients to address the most demanding transport challenges of our time. Our clients include: Transport for Greater Manchester, Manchester City Council, West Yorkshire CA, South Yorkshire MCA, Transport for London and London Boroughs; other Local and Combined Authorities; Sub-national Transport Bodies such as Transport for the North, England’s Economic Heartland and Midlands Connect; and National Transport Authority (Ireland).
This position requires an enthusiastic, self-motivated person, who will enjoy being part of our growing, dynamic team. We are seeking someone with a wide breadth of experience across a number of different transport planning disciplines, including: strategy/policy, business cases, monitoring amp; evaluation, sustainable transport options development and assessment (particularly public transport planning), and new mobility strategies and projects. You will be highly analytical with a creative eye for detail in data and evidence; and be used to working closely with clients to deliver technically excellent work.
You will have the opportunity to lead long term, integrated, multi-modal transport strategies, combining robust analysis, development of ambitious and innovative transport solutions and extensive engagement with senior stakeholders. You will also be a work winner, building on existing client relationships and fostering new links to support our growth in the UK North, working closely with our Client Relationship Director for the UK North.
Work Environment
All Steer employees seeking a full-time opportunity are encouraged to spend 60% of their time either in office or on-site with clients. An employee’s typical work week consists of 37.5 hours. Hours, expectations, and exemption status will be adjusted for any applicant seeking a part-time opportunity.
