Business Operations Manager
We are looking for a Business Operations Manager to join us at Gram Games.
Gram Games is the studio behind some of the most popular mobile titles in the world like Merge Dragons!, Merge Magic!, 1010! and we have more awesome projects in the pipeline. As our project portfolio is growing, we now are looking for a Business Operations Manager to join us in our London office.
Gram is a data-driven company but this role has a key human element, as well; you need to be able to help drive and motivate team members across all disciplines and to curate a positive and productive team culture. Ultimately, the ideal candidate is a talented, flexible problem-solver who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty.
About the Role
As Business Operations Manager at Gram Games, your main objective will be contributing to business strategy, planning and execution and directly owning components of it, such as budget and workforce planning and tracking.
In this cross-functional / central role, you will be expected to collaborate with all the functions in the studio (Game Teams), as well as relevant central functions (e.g. Marketing, Analytics, Finance, People) to help establishing a culture of operational rigor and excellence, goal setting, accountability and cross-functional execution
You will enable game teams to focus on growing our games in a healthy manner, by developing and improving operations, and implementing enhanced management processes/services to leverage organizational resources. Your day to day will be shaped by the priorities directly derived from full studio Pamp;L. You will lead or support cross team strategic initiatives, as well as studio communications amp; reporting.
The successful candidate will be a skilled leader with experience, interpersonal skills and demonstrated success in partnering with various functions, setting up and ensuring alignment on priorities, as well as following through to achieve Pamp;L results.
As a Business Operations Manager, you will...
- Manage vital operational activities for the studio amp; support strategic projects. Identify opportunities for improvement and execute changes to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Work independently to gather data, provide analysis and give recommendations for business planning and financial scenarios / forecasting for Pamp;L. Work on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation
- Work directly with studio leadership amp; all functions to gather details for budget and partner with finance to deliver forecasts, in coordination with the game teams. Establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements
- Become the expert for Gram Games across workforce planning, work with studio leaders to solve complex workforce planning issues
- Lead and support the creation of communication materials for the studio, to better inform both employees and management. Provide support on the creation of executive and board level presentations
- Execute on tactical tasks and some strategic tasks with guidance from Studio Leadership. Contribute and provide input to the strategic planning process and develop and implement plans
Qualifications and Experience
- 5+ years of cross-functional experience in a project management, execution focused role in a fast-moving and analytical environment or management consulting with a focus on transformation/implementation
- Willingness and ability to thrive in a cooperative and cross-functional working environment
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and execution skills, advanced knowledge and experience in crafting business recommendations and follow-through
- Familiarity with Free to Play / Freemium gaming KPIs, terminology and business model
- Experience in mobile gaming is a plus, but not a must
- Experience in Business Operations is a plus, but not a must
