Frontend UI Engineer

Job Description
This is a UK based role and we are only able to consider people who currently reside or have work authorisation in the UK.
THE ROLE:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented frontend engineer with an eye for design to work across multiple platforms and help develop our audio and live streaming platforms. Sitting on our product team of 20, you will help build, improve and evolve the look and feel of our platform. We have tens of millions of users across web, mobile-web, android, ios, chromecast, and more.
We use Relay to manage the data from our GraphQL API, so experience with that (or something similar like Apollo) is fantastic. We also test heavily and enforce type safety on the frontend, so let us know if you have experience with Jest and Typescript or FlowJS.
We build our component library with StyledComponents and are looking for an enthusiastic engineer to help us continue to build out and improve our feature sets on our web platform.

Requirements
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop, prototype amp; optimise existing amp; new React components and features
- Write, review and document code in various languages and frameworks
- Design front-end solutions as well as continuously improve our offering
- Propose UI and UX improvements
- Collaborate with the design team to implement and develop designs for functional web apps
- Take part in regular creative brainstorming sessions to improve product quality.
- Engage in healthy dialogue around product briefs and provide feedback.
WHO YOU ARE
- 3-7 years development experience
- Attention to detail and a keen interest in user experience and UI
- Someone who enjoys building React components and the fine details of an experience
- Familiarity with the following technologies: React, Git, and React Testing Library, Storybook
- Excellent knowledge of CSS and styling is essential.
- Well-versed in Javascript (ES6+) and up to date with modern standards
- Experience in Javascript type systems such as TypeScript or Flow
- Pro-activeness in finding ways to improve collaboration between engineers and designers
- An interest and enthusiasm for technology and design
Nice to have
- Familiarity with StyledComponents, Relay, GraphQL, Webpack/ViteJS
