Joining the Digital Engineering function would see you work as part of a cross-functional, product style team, generally consisting of a Business Analyst, Scrum Master / Project Manager, Solution Architect, Lead Developers (FE and BE), Developers, and Testers (Manual and Automated).
We are looking for a strong and experienced Software Tester to join our Development Team. The successful candidate will provide strong core skills as outlined below to build the team’s capability for new and existing development. We have a growing business and an expanding client base and are keen to recruit an experienced tester to help us deliver the growing demands to a technically high standard.
What I need to do:
- Will work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure best practices are in place and adhered to for test and overall quality.
- Will work in an agile scrum/Kanban model.
- Carry out functional and non-functional testing to ensure the requirements are met as well as the quality expected.
- Analyse project documentation in order to determine the scope of testing and identify potential anomalies.
- Define test requirements, test cases and test data according to the scope defined.
- Execute tests and analyse the results to ensure the system meets requirements.
- Record the execution for audit purposes.
- Troubleshoot issues found during testing, working closely with the Consultants, Configurators and Developers to confirm resolution.
- Raise defects where necessary and proactively track to a timely completion.
- Re-testing fixes to ensure reported problems are corrected.
- Work with Consultant/Product Owner to achieve sign off test results and completion of testing within scheduled timescales.
- Contribute to other initiatives and projects within the team.
- They should show a keen interest in continual improvement not only in the processes, but in their personal growth and be pro-active to ensure we are at the forefront of best practices.
Essential skills:
- Strong knowledge of any of SQL Dialects: Microsoft SQL/My SQL etc.
- Experience working in a SaaS and cloud product development team.
- An experienced manual tester with expertise in both functional and non-functional testing (compatibility amp; user experience testing).
- Solid understanding of using troubleshooting tools like dev tools to analyse web application errors.
- Solid experience in testing Restful API’s using tools like Postman.
- Ability to create collections of API tests for ease of cataloguing and referencing.
- Good experience in understanding and writing JSON.
- Experience in Agile development and regression testing is a must.
- Experience raising defects in Jira is essential.
- Ability to undertake post-release /post-implementation testing.
- Experience working with cross functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
- Experience of Behavioural Driven Development (BDD) and the ability to write scenarios using the Gherkin syntax.
- Experience of producing detailed Test strategy/approach and planning documentation, coupled with appropriate testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of different testing methodologies and Test Levels.
- Interact and communicate effectively with all levels of staff including senior management.
