Job Description

Our client, a well-established, family run business based in Farnham is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their small, friendly team. The company aspires to be operationally excellent and enjoys great customer loyalty. Our client offers wide experience in new build, extensions, internal alterations and refurbishment projects and specialise in residential properties. They operate right across Surrey and its neighbouring counties

As Project Manager you will be responsible for planning and supervising a range of construction projects from start to finish. You will organise and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal Project Manager must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget.

Key duties and responsibilities...

  • On-site management of sub-contractors.
  • Creation of project timelines
  • Provide leadership amp; take responsibility on assigned projects, including timely completion, cost control in relation to a budget, and the relevant health amp; safety compliance
  • Responsible for ensuring that the projects are constructed in accordance with the plans, specifications and Building Regulations as required.
  • Responsible for the project from initial handover right through to the timely completion of all snagging to the client’s satisfaction and final sign off from Building Control.
  • Manage subcontractor schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding work being performed.
  • Ensure that subcontractors are fully executing and complying with their contracted scope of works.
  • Identify conflicts in the construction progress and communicate them to the team to reach a resolution.
  • Compile a programme for each project and update it throughout the project if required.
  • Any changes to programme are to be communicated clearly and quickly with the client.
  • Provide updates to client as frequently as agreed, on a job-by-job basis updates to include extras/variations as well as progress.
  • Keep supply of materials up to speed on site so subcontractors are not slowed down at all.

Requirements

  • Project management experience in the construction sector, preferably residential housing
  • Ability to work quickly while at the same time paying attention to the level of detail required for safe operation on site and in your surroundings.

  • Ability to act on own initiative and self-motivated, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
