The Opportunity:

Imago Techmedia - Clarion’s leading enterprise technology event series focusing on digital transformation are seeking an Operations Executive to support in building exceptional live event experiences, with an emphasis on customer service, account handling and operations support.

The event portfolio consists of two large scale exhibitions; Manchester Tech Week and Digital Transformation EXPO+UCX Europe plus support on other ancillary/ad hoc events as they arise.

This role will support the Customer Service Manager and Event Operations Manager on every part of the operational delivery of the Imago events, helping ensure we design and deliver to a high standard and to budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Operations team with exhibitor and sponsor logistics.
  • Managing queries and ensuring all stand contracts are delivered accurately onsite.
  • Assist clients in the planning, delivery, and modification of their exhibition modules.
  • Liaise with, and order services, from venue and tied contractors.
  • Take responsibility for managing fringe events.
  • Help maintain a high level of customer service alongside the Customer Service Manager.
  • Assist the Operations Manager with the delivery of event features as required.
  • Assist the Operations team with any other general admin as needed, including ad hoc tasks as required by the Operations Director.
  • Sponsorship admin/support.
  • Onsite delivery of events.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills amp; Behaviours:

  • Experience in a customer-facing role is desirable.
  • Experience in the events or exhibition industry is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of customer service delivery.
  • Organised and methodical with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and resolve problems calmly under pressure.
  • Self-motivated and a proactive approach to taking on responsibility.
  • Strong social and communications skills.
  • Confident dealing with a broad range of people across all levels.
  • Able to manage time effectively and multi-task.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and keen to learn new technology and IT systems.
  • Resilience, tenacity, tact, diplomacy, and assertiveness.
  • Eagerness to learn about the exhibitions industry and all it represents.
  • Prepared to work some weekends.
