Job Description

We are looking for graduates to join our Product Engineering team in Electronics amp; Complex Integration Systems.

Automotive systems are increasing in complexity and becoming highly distributed across the vehicle platform. Electronics systems and their components are the driving force behind our cutting-edge customer-facing features, from assisted and automated driving to the quality-of-life improvements drivers expect when using their vehicles.

Potentially rotating through a number of different specialisms, you will gain a rounded view of the business and develop cross-functional relationships with senior stakeholders as you deliver innovative engineering solutions.

During the Electronics amp; Complex Integration Systems Graduate Programme, you could work in one of the following departments: Engineering Body Chassis (EBC), Digital Product Platform (DPP), Engineering Vehicle (EV), Engineering Research (ER) or Engineering Propulsion (EP). You will be allocated to a department based on personal preferences and business need.

Engineering Body Chassis (EBC)

Engineering Body is responsible for the majority of content that you see and touch in our cars. We work closely with the creative studio to translate their award-winning solutions into engineering reality, taking into account performance, manufacturability, sustainability, cost and weight.

Each area is multidisciplinary, focusing on challenges such as geometry creation using Computer Aided Design (CAD), performance robustness using Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), material selection, complex electro-mechanical interfaces and software. We work with all departments across the business, (procurement, creative, manufacturing, etc.) as well as international suppliers. In addition to refining current vehicles, we’re defining the technology roadmap for the next 10 years.

From day one, you will be part of a team and will be personally responsible for developing real-world engineering solutions. You will learn tools, engineering methodologies and techniques to create and optimise engineering innovations that will enrich your capabilities, raise your profile and accelerate your development as an engineer. This will involve both working on new products and enhancing current products from the basic science all the way through to the customers hands.

Digital Product Platform (DPP)

Using cutting-edge tools and processes, including model-based techniques, you will support system design and validation to ensure we deliver the premium features and consistent quality that our customers expect.

Along the way, you could focus on driving the design and implementation of cutting-edge technology solutions or concentrate on developing models and simulations. Wherever you specialise, you will enjoy constant interaction with diverse stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle as you draft and maintain engineering design documentation.

Engineering Vehicle (EV)

EV is the key technical department for the product creation process: leading engineering innovation from concept to customer, managing the technical content of programmes, and balancing customer attributes and commodities to deliver and launch world class products.

In particular, EV drives the creation and control of vehicle architectures, conducts diverse technical projects and concept studies, and champions end-to-end vehicle efficiency improvements, whilst integrating systems to ensure the seamless delivery of futureproofed cars. Within EV you could find yourself working within vehicle efficiency, human factors or central systems integration.

Engineering Research (ER)

We research, explore and develop technical solutions and innovations that will address the future needs, challenges and expectations of the world, our company and our customers. In short, we want to enable our transition to sustainable, modern luxury through advancing new technology and innovation that creates value.

The ER team is based at the University of Warwick campus within the National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC). We have access to amazing collaborative spaces, a large engineering hall, multiple laboratories and workshops, which help us create proof of concepts and prove our theories, and technologies we are exploring and their scalability for automotive application.

Engineering Propulsion (EP)

Our propulsion engineers are leaders in the design, testing, validation and certification of world-class propulsion systems, aimed at delivering driving experiences that our customers will love for life.

The scope of our propulsion systems is far-reaching, including electric drive units, energy storage devices, engines, transmissions and drive
