Job Summary

We’re looking for an HR Advisor to work closely with leaders and management teams in order to enhance organisational and people capabilities, as well as take the lead on some key people initiatives across the organisation. At Logistics UK we’re adopting a Hybrid way of working, empowering our people to balance their time between home and our Tunbridge Wells office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively helps to deliver a HR service to the business, providing positive challenge to Management Teams on all people matters.
  • Develops and executes the people strategy and vision, underpinning business objectives that enable positive organisational and cultural change.
  • Establishes professional credibility, develops and maintains collaborative and productive relationships with management and employees.
  • Provides pragmatic advice on employee relations issues, guiding line managers to develop or implement practical solutions to employee issues within the existing organisational policy and legal framework.
  • Involved in the annual salary review process alongside the wider HR team.
  • Assists in the delivery of development workshops in areas of HR best practice, to enhance knowledge and skills within the organisation.
  • Assists with the maintenance and development of electronic and manual record systems and supports ad hoc administrative duties such as creating paperwork for change of contract terms and meeting notes, where requested.
  • Liaises with Payroll to ensure that any staff information that impacts upon payroll is both timely and correct and supports payroll checking on a monthly basis.
  • Undertakes projects and any other work reasonably requested in line with the HR operating plan.

Essential Experience amp; Qualifications

  • Experience of first line HR operational support and an advocate for working collaboratively across the HR Team to strengthen reputation and relationships .
  • Approachable with the ability to deal with situations pragmatically, sensitively and maintain confidentiality.
  • Possesses an interest in learning and development as a means of continuous improvement.
  • Proven experience of being able to support and advise managers using a commercial and pragmatic approach.
  • Resilient and able to prioritise, problem solve and work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven record of successful delivery for projects/initiatives which impact positively on the organisation.
  • Adapts and works effectively with a variety of situations, individuals or groups. Able to understand and appreciate different and opposing perspectives on an issue, to adapt an approach as the requirements of a situation change, and to change or easily accept changes in one’s own organisation or job requirements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Understand the value drivers of the Logistics UK and is commercially astute.
  • Role models Logistics UK’s values and behaviours.
  • Working knowledge and application of employment law.
  • Flexible, mobile and willing to travel as the business needs dictate.
  • Microsoft Office skills, essentially Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and One Note.
