In your new role you will be an Associate Principal Engineer in Qontigo’s index platform. Qontigo operates the DAX and STOXX index families, which require an integrated end-to-end index development and back testing platform. The platform is key to enabling Qontigo to be more flexible, respond to clients faster, and reduce time-to-market for new indices.
In this role you an engineer developing technology to support the creation and operation of index products and the supporting data. Activities will include engineering data pipelines, process automation, developing back testing and portfolio management tools within the Qontigo index platforms.
As a key component of the Qontigo Index growth strategy, your role is highly technical in an increasingly agile focused company. In this role, you should be able to work with little supervision. You should have excellent problem-solving skills. Your goal will be to develop high-quality software that is aligned with user needs and business goals.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Identify and execute tasks in the software development life cycle
- Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
- Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
- Review and debug code
- Perform validation and verification testing
- Document development phases and monitor systems
- Ensure software is up-to-date with latest technologies
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Software Engineer creating software code that meets coding standard methodologies guidelines, unit testing, security, and scalability and maintainability guidelines.
- Analyse, design, develop, as well as implement RESTful services and APIs
- Implement, integrate and document a variety of software platforms through the REST API framework
- Strong working experience with one of the following languages: Python, SQL , NoSQL databases
- Experience with hands-on implementation on platforms including GCP.
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Linux, Mac OS, Windows)
- Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
- Ability to work independently or with little supervision.
