Summary

We're seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to play a key role on our Midnight team. Midnight is a regulatory-friendly data protection-based blockchain, dedicated to safeguarding sensitive commercial and personal data while preserving fundamental freedoms for developers, companies, and individuals.
Key Responsibilities: As an SDET on the Midnight team, you will:
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing.
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies covering functional, performance, security, and integration testing.
- Create and maintain automated test scripts using relevant testing frameworks and tools.
- Conduct manual testing when required, including exploratory, regression, and ad-hoc testing.
- Identify, report, and track defects to resolution, performing root cause analysis and collaborating with development teams.
- Set up and maintain test environments, including test data and configurations.
- Plan and conduct performance testing to assess scalability, reliability, and responsiveness of our blockchain solutions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date test documentation, including test plans, cases, and reports.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of test automation frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and product managers, to ensure product testability, reliability, and scalability.
Requirements
Key Competencies: We are seeking individuals with:
- Proficiency in automation, including the ability to write automated test scripts and establish/maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of blockchain technology, with knowledge of consensus algorithms and smart contracts (a plus).
- Sound knowledge of SDLC methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices.
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (advanced degrees are a plus).
- Proven experience as an SDET or in a similar quality assurance/testing role.
- Experience with modern testing frameworks and agile methodologies.
- Familiarity with Git, SDLC, and various CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions).
- Experience in performance and security testing (a plus).
- Experience with API testing and distributed systems/networks (beneficial).
- Expertise in executing and automating various types of tests using libraries, tools, and procedures.
- Experience with TypeScript, Javascript, Rust, or other programming languages is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Virtualization using Docker.
- Proficiency with Linux.
