Job Description
The role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Procurement and Contracts Specialist to lead the management of a wide variety of contracts. Reporting to the Debenhams CEO you will manage contract renewals, supporting negotiation of key commercial terms, and coordinate with business teams / legal to ensure a smooth contracts process.
This role can be based at either our Manchester or London offices and will require an office presence 3/4 days per week.

What you'll be doing
- Supporting internal stakeholders to help them achieve their objectives, identify and drive out financial and quality improvement opportunities to deliver value to the bottom line
- Provide advice and/ or first line of guidance to business stakeholders on a variety of contractual transactions
- Managing the commercial relationships with both new and incumbent suppliers, to ensure contracts and commercial arrangements are competitively priced, legally robust and that service levels are established, monitored and exceeded by our suppliers
- Conducting commercial and contract negotiations
- Help manage contractual budgets
- Keep up to date with contract filing and managing the supplier database and renewal reminders
- Educate business stakeholders on contract forms, best practices, and commercial and legal risks as part of the contract review process
- Provide training where necessary
- Help coordinate RFP processes and bid responses and procurement questionnaires where necessary
- Considering key Improvements to contracting process and helping to implement any training or efficiencies into the business
- Ensuring all contracts are set up in a timely manner and effectively mitigating supplier risk

More about you
- Strong Procurement / Contract management experience
- Substantial experience managing high value/volume contracts
- Strong communication skills with ability to maintain good relationships across a wide range of stakeholders at senior level
- Excellent organisational skills amp; attention to detail, performing all work with high levels of accuracy; and ability to prioritise workloads, while meeting all deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Be personable and approachable
