Job Description

Our client, a large government customer, are seeking a Technical Author Incident Response to join their team. The role is based in Corsham. The role requires SC clearance.

Initial requirement is scheduled to run from 01/01/2024 until 31/03/2024 with an optional extension running from 01/04/2024 until 30/09/2025.

IR35 STATUS:Inside IR35. Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement. The rates above represent rate payable to the umbrella co.

Overview of Role

The programme is looking to transfer the Local Area Distribution and Telephone requirement from Land Environment Communication Information Systems to New Style of Information Technology. The requirement is to facilitate the provision of a Single Local Area Distribution solution for all services, providing distribution of services and encryption of user traffic to orphaned, or separate capabilities that are not captured within the current scope. It would also ensure a telephone capability which provisions a multi-tenancy, cross security domain connectivity from deployed to deployed and deployed to fixed environments, both hard and soft.

Main Responsibilities

  • Technical author service supporting Incident Response.
  • Authoring ITIL v4.0 service management playbook artefacts/deliverables.
  • Weekly reports, summarising key tasked activities and outputs generated.
  • Project documentation (PIDs, schedule, design documents etc) as mandated by the governance framework.

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • An understanding of communications information systems (CIS) services management (SM) processes to update/improve or produce relevant SM playbooks.
  • An understanding of CIS incident response (IR) processes to update/improve or produce relevant IR playbooks.
  • An understanding of CIS business continuity approaches to update/improve or produce relevant playbooks.
  • Ability to advise improved ways of working pertaining to the current processes and procedures employed by the Service Management Team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Hold a valid Security Clearance (SC).

Desirable Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience within a network/security operations centre.

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 General visas cannot be accepted.
