Climax Studios was established nearly 30 years ago, we have an extensive history in developing all kinds of digital experiences across all formats, and we have won multiple awards along the way.

We have a new state of the art studio located in the heart of the beautiful Albert Dock in the city centre of Liverpool.

We’re looking for an experienced and talented Technical Director to take this key position. You will be working alongside our other studio’s Technical Director, CTO and the Development Director, and you will be instrumental in the scaling up of the code team at our new Liverpool location.

Requirements


  • Handling the management of the studio’s engineering department staff.
  • Team building - the hiring, mentoring and career development of the studios engineering team.
  • Being responsible for quality and success of the programming team in the studio.
  • Solving technical issues in order to support the engineering department in delivering their project goals.
  • Researching and proposing solutions to improve the technical expertise of the studio and the Climax code teams as a whole.
  • Collaborating with our other discipline directors to provide a clear vision for the studio’s games, and help to communicate that vision to the engineering team.

Skills

  • Extensive game development experience in engineering and technical leadership roles, spanning both the technical and creative areas of games production.
  • Advanced and proven professional C++ programming skills and a thorough knowledge of software design practices.
  • Extensive Unreal experience.
  • Excellent leadership skills you will have the ability to communicate clearly and get the best out of your teams.
  • A solid background in the production of AAA games with experience shipping console and PC games.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with good client facing skills.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills and an enthusiastic team player.
