The opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Junior Business Analyst to join us on the exciting and rewarding path we are taking here at Castle Trust Bank. Having become a fully authorised bank in 2020, we pride ourselves in being a fintech challenger bank, providing specialist property mortgages, retail finance lending and savings accounts to a variety of customers.

Working in our Technology amp; Projects team, you will be working across several business units or functions of the Bank including Consumer Credit (Omni), Property, Savings, Shared Services (Finance, Risk amp; Compliance, Legal, HR), with a primary focus on supporting the Omni Product team.

Reporting to the Omni Product Manager, you will work with other highly intellectual Business Analysts and Product Managers to help drive the change and transformation agenda for the bank. The role is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the business unit understands what technology capabilities it requires, and that these are delivered in an effective, efficient and agreed way.

You will facilitate communication with internal colleagues and business stakeholders to understand their needs and work with external software providers to understand and investigate feedback into the service, function or product provided. You will use best practices to analyse your findings and create suggestions for strategic and operational improvements and changes. You will gain agreement from senior management of the best way to introduce your recommendations to the business, communicating the benefits and addressing any uncertainty whilst supporting the delivery of those changes and helping resolve any issues.

The team’s approach is of high pace, combined with the need to deliver extremely high quality amp; robust software; with success being measured by safe, sustained and high-quality delivery.

This role will benefit a hybrid working arrangement, to be based between our Basingstoke office (3 days) and working the rest of the week from home.

What we are looking for in you

What is important to us is that you have an analytical and inquisitive nature some previous experience working within technical teams as a Business Analyst would be highly desirable. You should have a relevant educational background (such as business management, computing/computer science, business information systems or similar) with good problem-solving skills and the ability to use your initiative to seek out solutions to challenges.

What is equally important is that you have a natural ability to work well and effectively under pressure on multiple, simultaneous projects with conflicting priorities and demands. You will need to be a positive advocate for change, with strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate with and present to a wide variety of audiences (both technical and non-technical). Your documentation skills attention to detail should be second to none.
