Job Description

Hello, we’re Starling. We built a new kind of bank because we knew technology had the power to help people save, spend and manage their money in a new and transformative way. We’re a fully licensed UK bank with the culture and spirit of a fast-moving, disruptive tech company. We’re a bank, but better: fairer, easier to use and designed to demystify money for everyone. We employ more than 3,000 people across our London, Southampton, Cardiff and Manchester offices.

Everyone at Starling gets the chance to own interesting things from day one, and we’re told one of the best things about working here is the ability to achieve a lot in a short space of time.

Our mission is to change banking for good. We can’t do that without our dedicated and passionate employees. Our People team deals with all aspects of our employee journey - talent acquisition, employee onboarding, talent management, total rewards and employee experience and culture. Our People Team is dedicated to finding fantastic people and creating an enjoyable working environment where employees can thrive, grow and develop (plus all the legal/regulatory stuff underpinning that).

Talent Acquisition - a core function of our People team - is responsible for identifying, acquiring, assessing, and hiring the fantastic employees who help make Starling a success.

We are hiring for a 12 month Fixed Term Talent Acquisition Partner to support our Corporate Functions hiring here at Starling Bank. As a Talent Acquisition Partner you will manage a Talent Acquisition Specialist and work collaboratively to focus on supporting our hiring needs as we continue to execute on our ambitious growth plans throughout 2024.

  • Partner with your stakeholders and the wider People team to scope, and define hiring requirements and build a TA plan to meet these needs.
  • Managing the end to end recruiting process to provide a great candidate experience, including sourcing, shortlisting and conducting first round interviews; evaluating candidates and providing feedback; through to offer negotiation and on-boarding.
  • Work closely with the wider team to build, and manage MI to help drive data driven decisions about our sourcing strategy and hiring process.
  • Help raise awareness of Starling Bank, being a brand ambassador and always looking for new ways to showcase Starling as an employer of choice.

Interview process:

Interviewing is a two-way process and we want you to have the time and opportunity to get to know us, as much as we are getting to know you! Our interviews are conversational and we want to get the best from you, so come with questions and be curious. You can expect the following:

  • First round interview with the Head of Talent Acquisition
  • Second round interview with Talent Acquisition Partner and Senior People Partner

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the local marketplace for operational talent. Building relationships for both immediate and long-term hiring needs
  • You’ll bring tangible evidence of driving improvements in candidate experience. Coaching hiring managers; working with other business areas as needed; or even making simple changes, are things you’ll be able to reference
  • Experience in finance/banking is not essential - however, you should be passionate about what we are trying to achieve!
  • You should be a strong communicator, both written and verbally
