As a result of our continued success, we are recruiting for a Production Operative with a background in Manufacturing Production Plant to join our award-winning company at our Sittingbourne site. The position is based on a three-shift system, 12-hour days and nights covering an average of 42-hour week including one Saturday morning every 3 weeks.
What's the mission?
You will work as part of a team to manufacture high-quality concrete products using operational techniques whilst ensuring you deliver to site standards for safety, quality, waste, and OEE targets. You'll predominantly work within the Concrete Block Paving department, operating press machinery, hand-powered tools, shot blast machinery, and mobile plant such as Forklift trucks to move stock around the site.
You'll need to be good at communicating so you can provide accurate information at shift handovers and liaise with our maintenance team and shift managers regarding operational machine reviews.
Don’t worry if you’ve not worked in our industry before, we can teach you everything there is to know about Manufacturing. All we ask is that you have a positive ‘can do’ outlook and a willingness to learn!
Annual pay increases are part of your development and further details will be shared with you at the interview.
Mission-critical skills:
- Experience working in a busy Production/Manufacturing environment is preferred but not essential
- Industry experience is not essential as full training will be provided
- Hold a valid accredited Forklift Truck licence but not essential
- Good group working ethos
- Flexibility on shift rotation or night shift experience will be required
- Computer literate to incorporate data - basic knowledge required
- Safe to Supervise or IOSH qualification would be advantageous but not essential
