A quick look at the role
The Group Reporting Accountant is responsible for performing the group consolidation, producing financial statements and managing the audit process. Additional areas of involvement will be the group-wide entity rationalisation project, the financial reporting system transformation project and providing the wider business with technical accounting expertise.

Your core responsibilities
- Perform group consolidation and produce financial statements at both half year and year end
- Manage external auditors throughout the year to ensure a smooth year end audit process
- Prepare annual accounts for individual statutory entities
- Support operational finance personnel across the business to solve problems
- Review tax numbers produced by the tax team
- Co-lead the ongoing entity rationalisation project to simplify the group structure and improve efficiency
- Provide a source of expertise on technical accounting areas including pensions, derivatives and service concession arrangements going forward
- Produce technical accounting papers where required
- Exercise judgement on acquisition accounting
- Involvement in the ongoing design, data migration and implementation of the new financial reporting system

Our essential requirements
- Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience from a professional services firm and/or group finance in a large corporate
- Experience of group consolidation and producing statutory accounts
- Strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards and ability to produce technical accounting papers
