37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday.

This is a role that you can work from home but require travelling to our site in Merthyr Tydfil.

A quick look at the role.

The role requires environmental data collection, interpretation and reporting for regulatory purposes and company procedures at several of the Company’s sites.

The Biffa division you’ll be supporting.

WithinLandfill, Gas and Organicswe focus on the treatment, recycling, energy capture and disposal of waste, always trying to be at the forefront of innovation and diversification through a multitude of operations.

Key aspects of the role

  • Manage, manipulate and statistically interpret large data sets.
  • Collation and tracking of Environmental data and costs.
  • Undertake data and environmental site audits.
  • Support technical specialist and consultants and help problem solving.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, such as the Environment Agency, for site inspections, monitoring reports and compliance assessment responses.
  • Undertake environmental monitoring, including but not limited to groundwater, surface water, leachate and gas, for holiday cover or as required.
  • Liaise with contractors, laboratories, suppliers and local residents with association to environmental management and biodiversity improvements.
  • Regular travel to operational and non-operational landfills and other facilities in the region.

Requirements

Here’s what we require:

  • Full Valid Driving Licence (compulsory)
  • Science-based, Environmental or mathematical degree (advantageous)
  • Data interpretation
  • Computer prediction or statistical modelling, understanding of GIS (advantageous)
  • Computer literate including MS Word/Excel and internal databases.
  • Time management/organisational skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Report writing
