Job Description

Waste Container Refurbisher (known as Semi-skilled Fitter internally)

Location: Thurrock Container Distribution Centre - RM20 3EE

Hours: 7.00Am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday

A quick look at the role.

The Waste Container Refurbisher supports our Container Distribution Centre and will undertake all duties to refurbish waste containers in a production targeted Workshop/Depot environment.

The refurbishment of containers can also take place on customer sites and will involve customer interaction on occasion.

The role will report into the Operational Support Manager and involve regular contact with our operational Depot Teams and Fleet Operations.

Requirements

Here’s what we require:

  • A Valid UK Driving Licence.
  • Experience of maintaining and repairing waste handling equipment.
  • Previous experience of working in a production targeted environment.
  • Knowledge of using air tools and power tools in a workshop environment.
  • A strong, up to date knowledge of basic Hamp;S legislation and practice.
  • Exceptional communication skill with the ability to communicate in writing, on a one to one basis and via the phone with all levels including management, team members and internal/external customers.
  • A willingness to do the best for the customer with the aim of a first-class resolution.
  • Ability to respond positively to on-going changes in a challenging and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work individually and as part of a large team.
  • Good time keeping skills with a willingness to work flexibly.
