The ZPG Group, owner of some of the UK’s best digital technology brands, is looking for a Group Financial Reporting Accountant/Analyst to join the ZPG Group finance team. Reporting into the Senior Group Finance Manager this role will play an integral role within the ZPG Group finance function, acting both as acting as a financial reporting accountant for the Group’s holding companies, reporting under IFRS, and as a business partner by collating and analysing information from the divisional trading finance and central cost teams.

We are looking for a passionate, empathetic individual to join the ZPG Group finance team to work and lead within a high-growth environment and bring about improvements to finance processes. This role will provide the successful candidate extensive and valuable experience in the day-to-day operations of the Group finance department, including analysis of KPI’s and financial information to assist in group strategic decision making. The successful applicant will be keen to learn, develop and welcome new challenges working in a fast paced, agile environment while having exposure to all the elements of the two operational divisions.

About ZPG:

The ZPG Group consists of the Houseful and RVU Divisions and includes some of the UK’s most well recognised, trusted and innovative digital brands. These brands, including Confused.com, Zoopla, Uswitch, Money.co.uk and Tempcover, aim to empower consumers to make better property and household related decisions. Alongside these household names, the ZPG Group is also one of the leading residential property software and data providers with a range of industry-leading products including Hometrack, Alto, Calcasa, Yourkeys and many others.

The ZPG Group finance team are responsible for reviewing and consolidating the results of the two trading divisions, preparing consolidated financial statements and monthly reporting packs, presenting to shareholders and lenders, analysing and making treasury decisions (cash flow forecasting and hedging), business partnering and leading the audit and the audit committee.

ZPG Group's results are consolidated in the accounts of Zephyr Midco 2 Limited.

About the role:

  • Support and manage the group reporting preparation (including balance sheet, income statement, internal and external KPIs and cashflow statements) including the results of the two trading divisions and the central ZPG function
  • Lead on the core month-end processes for the non-trading Group entities (e.g. ZPG Limited amp; Zephyr Bidco Limited)
  • Support with finance business partnering with key stakeholders including central IT, facilities and procurement
  • Support the consolidation process across all entities, ensuring consistent accounting treatment across the Group under IFRS and challenge management on divisional results and KPIs
  • Manage the Group’s intercompany matrix and intercompany loan balances, and the Group’s central cost recharge process
  • Support the preparation of the Group and certain subsidiary financial statements using Caseware
  • Assist with the year end audit including preparing year end audit schedules, judgement papers for technical accounting matters and working with the auditors
  • Maintain the chart of accounts within Netsuite and assist in the documentation of Group accounting policies and procedures
  • Prepare the monthly analysis against budget and forecast of the central functions, including insightful commentary and analysis to identify underlying trends and projections
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process for all ZPG Group central functions
  • Evaluate and streamline existing processes where possible, ensuring buy in from various stakeholders, and work with other team members to improve efficiency
