Job Description

UBT provide business services including corporate training, consulting, accounting, and group buying services to approximately 1000 independent companies across the UK. Due to ongoing growth of the business, we require an Accounts Payable Team Leader to join our finance function based in Warwick.

In return for an excellent benefits package, you will oversee the daily management of the accounts payable staff and processes associated with the payment of invoices, ensuring the accuracy of the entire process as it relates to vendor payment, processing of purchase orders, invoices and payment of invoices, and communication with buyers. The role holder ensures company policies and procedures are being adhered to as they pertain to accounts payable.

Key Responsibilities...

  • Ensure that all records are maintained accurately, and reporting is produced to agreed timeframe.
  • Communicate all activities to controller.
  • Manage vendor responsibilities.
  • Ensure all negotiated contracts are paid as agreed on, which have been advised.
  • Manage and complete all projects as assigned
  • Review payable accounts to ensure that information is properly recorded and the records contain appropriate authorization for payment
  • Administer and ensure that entered items have the correct account codes to pay vendors and employees properly.
  • Maintain proper back up files for further reference when required.
  • Ensure that credit cards statements are reconciled promptly
  • Reconciling vendor statement to financial system
  • Monitor vendor accounts to ensure that payments are up to date.
  • Prepare relevant documents for weekly payment run
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of data on accounts.
  • Code documents according to company procedures.
  • Verify discrepancies and resolve suppliers’ account issues.
  • Manage and motivate a team of high calibre employees, managing reports behaviours and customer service levels.
  • Ensure adequate organisational effectiveness and team effectiveness aligned to service delivery through: maximising the effective and efficient use of people resources; identifying and addressing skills gaps, key training needs and performance management.
  • Build a highly engaged workforce through leading by example a culture of accountability, integrity, customer awareness, team spirit, ownership and reliability.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance.
  • Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled team.
