Senior Platform Engineer
The Hub, by Veratrak, is a SaaS platform that removes peer-to-peer data connections between Pharmaceutical companies and their logistics partners to access a vast network of supply chain services.
The Hub, by Veratrak, offers a data exchange platform, enabling companies to work more efficiently, free up working capital, have visibility in areas where there is currently none, and significantly reduce annual spend on IT services.
Position Overview
As a Senior Platform Engineer at Veratrak, you will lead the development and testing of our platform under the guidance of our Head of Engineering.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from sculpting technical vision and software design to unit and integration testing.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture of our cloud platform. Your experience and expertise will be highly valued, and your voice will be instrumental in the architectural decisions made. We encourage and expect you to actively express your opinions and ensure that your insights are heard and considered in the architectural direction of our systems.
You will be expected to continuously raise our standard of engineering excellence by implementing and driving best practices for coding, testing, and deployment
Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in supervising and mentoring junior and mid level software engineers, ensuring the successful execution of software development projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Significant experience in designing, building, and maintaining scalable and reliable platforms using cloud-native technologies preferably AWS.
- Experience in building Software integration solutions.
- Proven track record in system design, developing scalable and efficient software architectures.
- Security-first mindset across the board.
- Advantage: Prior experience in a startup environment, showcasing adaptability and a proactive approach.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, configuration management, and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, fostering effective collaboration within the team and across various departments.
- Strong knowledge and experience in API development and system integration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards software development and system design.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership qualities, facilitating teamwork and promoting a positive work environment.
Preferred but not mandatory:.
- Startup Experience: Previous experience in a startup environment, demonstrating adaptability, agility, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, rapidly evolving setting.
- Infrastructure Scaling Expertise: Experience in scaling infrastructure to accommodate rapid growth and increasing demands, highlighting the ability to architect for scalability and performance.
