Exciting developments are going on at our long-established and thriving Burton site. We’re now looking for a Site Engineering Manager to lead all things engineering and people related at the site. This is a rare and exciting opportunity where you can see your new ideas come to life and have an immediate impact on our operation!

What’s the mission?
You will deliver the Engineering Strategy across the Burton site through engaging leadership and strong people management skills! People are at the heart of our operation, so it is key that you are an engaging and forward-thinking leader. You will lead the Capital amp; Maintenance Programme that delivers project benefits and improves asset reliability safely, within budget, and to the highest of standards.

You’ll be leading a team of Engineers whilst being responsible for all operational activities and compliance, Health amp; Safety requirements, continuous improvement, and people development. You’ll build collaborative relationships with internal teams and stakeholders at Marley and Marshalls to ensure that leverage and integration are maximised.

We’re looking for a strong leader to engage the ‘hearts and minds’ of our colleagues whilst managing, coaching and training the team to develop a performance-driven culture, with emphasis on ownership, accountability, transparency and development of the facility and its people.

What are the mission-critical skills?

  • Lead the site Engineering team to deliver production plans, service levels amp; engineering strategy within quality, safety, and cost parameters.
  • Responsible for Major Incident Reports (MIR) to get to the root cause of significant/complex equipment failures and ensure that robust countermeasures are put in place.
  • Implement amp; deliver the engineering strategy that will develop and drive reliability, and improve quality, safety, and asset utilisation via all direct amp; indirect reports
  • Implement best practice maintenance principles for SHE/capital programme, care, and maintenance
  • Manage Engineering systems, structures, resources and processes, and ways of working
  • Manage the engineering planning process that proactively manages and maintains manufacturing assets at the site
  • Responsible for the delivery of engineering KPI’s that complement manufacturing performance, manufacturing KPI’s, and objectives
  • Recognise best practices from within and outside the business and work with stakeholders in helping to implement these across the business whilst supporting continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Coach and develop direct reports. Monitor and improve performance through appraisal, performance management, and personal development plans to ensure that their full potential is realised
