Job Description

We are the internal recruitment partner for The Peterborough School, a well-established and highly successful day school situated in a beautiful setting close to the city centre.

We are presenting an exciting opportunity for a Nursery Room Leader to join their Outstanding Nursery on a fixed term contract, providing maternity cover. You will join a collaborative and supportive team who encourages new ideas and champions ongoing learning and professional growth.

As the Room Leader, you will coordinate all aspects of your designated room, ensuring that sessions run smoothly, and the children are receiving the best possible care within a safe and stimulating environment.

You will create a nurturing, engaging and safe environment, develop and implement age-appropriate activities and curriculum, and build and maintain relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

You will have proven experience of working in an early years setting, strong leadership skills, and a passion for providing excellent childcare. You will have a sound understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

Requirements

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent.
  • Ability to create an engaging and stimulating environment.
  • Ability to form and maintain relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of EYFS framework.
  • Ability to create a positive and motivating environment.
  • Demonstrate emotional resilience whilst working with challenging behaviours.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Additional completed training courses are desirable.
  • Good IT skills.
