Job Description

Location: South Marston Industrial Estate, SN3 4TQ

Salary: 11.05 per hour

Working Hours: Flexible

Contract: Casual worker (no fixed hours)

About the role:

Oxwash is currently looking for Ad hoc Delivery Drivers to support our operations in Swindon during the week by covering shifts when there is a business need. The ideal candidates should have a clean Category C driving license and a strong background in customer-facing courier or delivery roles. The role will require you to operate a Luton-style and large panel van, and to collect and deliver laundry to and from our facility in Swindon and our clients located in London, Oxford, and Cambridge.

Key responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Safety:

  • Wearing all correct PPE and uniform.
  • Reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to their line manager without delay.
  • Riding, driving and delivering in a way that complies with the highway code and Oxwash’s SOPs.

Inventory:

  • Reporting any low stock of consumable spare parts and any missing items or damage to vehicles, PPE or devices.
  • Accountable for ensuring the vehicle you are using has all correct items such as tools amp; first aid kit.

Operations:

  • Responsible for the efficient delivery of all assigned tasks in order to achieve on-time delivery.
  • Responsible for completing weekly van checks and that any failings are reported to the most appropriate person without delay.

Quality and customer experience:

  • Accountable for ensuring all items arrive to the customer in the same state that they left the lagoon.
  • Accountable for ensuring you uphold the positive image of the brand at all times in a public facing role.
  • Supporting with customer queries from/with Customer Services.
  • Responsible for ensuring that any changes to delivery times are communicated to Customer Services and the Lead Rider or site manager, as appropriate.
  • Handle customer information with sensitivity and discretion and following our internal procedures.

Leadership and team development:

  • Aid with the training of new hires, and existing colleagues and seek opportunities to upskill yourself.
  • Provide internal stakeholders (e.g. General Manager, Head of Operations amp; CS) with concise and clear communication around any issue incurred.
Key Relationships
  • General Manager: Your work, and the operations team of the Big Blue, will be overseen by our General Manager. They manage the Oxwash site and our logistics.
  • Warehouse Operatives: You will collaborate with of the Operations team and our Laundry experts to ensure processes are followed efficiently.

Requirements

Key qualities competencies
  • Driving - You should have at least 1 year of driving experience and a full driving licence with a maximum of 6 points. Our ideal candidate will also have experience in delivery driving or courier work and / or driving experience in 7.5 tonne and Category C vehicles, but this is not essential.
  • Communication - You'll be the face of Oxwash, interacting with our valued customers and delivering the premium services that we offer. You will communicate in a respectful and professional way.
  • Adaptability - Things may change at short notice, and you will take those changes in your stride and adapt as needed.
  • Team player - We are on a really exciting growth trajectory, so enthusiasm and a willingness to muck in are key. When you're not busy driving, you'll help process laundry or assist with other essential areas like customer service.

We will provide all the training you need to be successful in your role.
