Help us make a difference as HGV Fitter at our workshop.
Due to the continued growth, Biffa are looking for experienced and responsible HGV technicians to join our growing business. As an HGV Fitter at Biffa Waste Services you will be part of the team maintaining our fleet of modern waste collection LGV/HGV vehicles in our workshops.
The role requires maintenance and repair of waste collection vehicles and equipment consisting of various makes, models and types, ranging from car derived vans to artic units and trailers.

- Servicing and repair of vehicle chassis and cab to VOSA requirements as well as MOT preparation and presentation
- Maintenance and repair of waste handling equipment, including electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Vehicle fault diagnosis and rectification
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, both electronically and paper based
- Support with Hamp;S issues to maintain OHSAS18001 standard already achieved,
Requirements
Here’s what we require:
- Technical qualification (City amp; Guilds or NVQ qualified ) or proven experience repairing amp; maintaining HGV vehicles
- Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements
- MOT preparation experience is advantageous
- HGV, PSV or Plant Experience
- HGV licence preferable but not essential, fully funded training can be provided for the right candidate
- Effective verbal and written skills coupled with strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
