To make this happen, we are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Infrastructure Engineer (to join our DevOps team) with a strong background in Linux servers (Ubuntu/Redhat) and AWS cloud to join our dynamic infrastructure team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation, optimization, and automation of our application stack.

What are the key objectives?

  • Ensure our on-prem infrastructure and AWS cloud estate are ready and available to support our teams, digital services, and customers at all times
  • Provision environments and services that are used by our customers as well as our development, engineering, and test teams
  • Assist in deploying product updates, locating production errors, and building integrations that improve users’ experience
  • Create, manage, and maintain the Infrastructure as Code for the project, deploy and update docker stacks to a docker swarm, ensuring lab configurations as well as involvement in updating, rolling back the product version etc. This work is approximately 80% on-prem and 20% cloud based

Requirements

Technically, we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, bring valuable insights and has demonstrated experience of:

  • Environment/Infrastructure Management, including provisioning and support for hardware, software, data, and network
  • Systems Administration Support, Security; User management; Upgrades/Patching; Scripting / Process Automation e.g. Ansible; Monitoring and System Analytics
  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment

Great to have, but not essential:

  • Worked with AWS Cloud services such as EC2 and S3, using CloudFormation and Terraform.
  • YAML based Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Understanding of JSON language 
  • AWS SysOps and Cloud Architecture Certifications
  • Advocate for DevOps culture and practices with Product and Project teams
  • Manage work items in Agile delivery lifecycle including updates to work items and active participation in ceremonies

This role could be based in Derby, Milton Keynes, or London.We have a flexible, hybrid approach to work and work location - so please talk to us about your preferences and how these could work for both you and the team.
